This intensive 2-week certification program is ideal for both novices and journeymen who are new to the substation environment.  This program covers industry best practices with a focus on improving safety, efficiency and reliability.   Course topics include: Schematics, Troubleshooting, Protection Skills, High Voltage Safety and Operations, Limits of Approach, Grounding, Live Line Tools, Ops and Switching, Lockout, Arc Flash, Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers, Voltage Regulators, Capacitors, Reactors.

ELECTRICAL LINEWORKER PRE-APPRENTICE CERTIFICATE
MAY 2 – JUNE 24, 2011

This intensive 8-week certification program is ideal for those wanting a career as an Electrical Lineman.  This program covers Electrical Theory, Safety and Safe Work Procedures, Climbing, Policies and Regulations, Tools and Instruments, Equipment, Rigging, Overhead Distribution, URD Distribution, and more.  This program covers both academic and practical skills development.  Upon successful completion, students will be prepared for on-the-job apprenticeship opportunities.
