ClearSpan Finishes Construction On Multiple Bulk Storage Buildings in California

ClearSpan just finished a state of the art fabric building to cover aggregate materials in California.

SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn., April 27, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — ClearSpan Structures just completed the construction and installation of two fabric bulk storage buildings. The expansive structures offer over 50,000 square feet of on-site storage area, ensuring the operation has abundant space to safely store their aggregate material and equipment.

“Our ability to meet and exceed storage requirements, while minimizing project cost, helped us earn this project and many others like it,” said Geoffrey Ching, Director of Sales for ClearSpan Structures. “ClearSpan has constructed multiple bulk storage structures over 50,000 square feet because of our unique ability to design material covers efficiently over piles.”

The structures are designed to not only fit material stockpiles exceeding 25′ in height, but also to create a more comfortable interior and accommodate tall loaders that need to maneuver throughout the storage space.

“ClearSpan bulk storage buildings are designed with much more in mind than the size of the pile,” continued Ching. “With these two buildings, we needed to consider the loading equipment required to operate inside the building and a natural ventilation system to promote good interior airflow.”

ClearSpan manufactures their buildings in-house, so the company is able to custom design projects down to the most specific detail. ClearSpan’s Building Specialists worked with this customer to incorporate the tools they use into the actual building design, leading to a structure that not only compliments business processes, but also enhances them.

“There were multiple conversations regarding maximum pile size, allowing our designers to fit the most efficient building profile around the pile cover and adjacent material waste storage building,” said Ching. “ClearSpan helped save this project hundreds of thousands in foundation costs as well with our innovative helical anchor foundation system.”

The structures were also designed to comply with environmental dust mitigation regulations. Besides this, ClearSpan structures can be designed and engineered to meet just about any local regulation.

“In states with more strict building code requirements, ClearSpan can help our industrial customers by taking on a greater scope of work beyond building construction,” said Ching. “During this project, these services included pulling building permits and working with local building officials to interpret detailed requirements for occupancy and sprinklers, resulting in significant cost savings for our customer.”
