SHARP LAUNCHES NEW PV PANEL AT INTERSOLAR 2018

Installation of 11.6 MW Sharp PV Panels by Aldo Energy in Turkey

Hamburg, 30 May 2018 – At Intersolar 2018, Sharp Energy Solutions will present its expanded product portfolio of PV panels and energy management systems, and discuss the recent completion of an extensive project.

Sharp launches new high-performance 275W PV panel (ND-RJ275)

Sharp will introduce a new addition to its ND-RJ product family, the ND-RJ275 (275W), a high-performance polycrystalline photovoltaic (PV) module, reaching a module efficiency of 16.8%. The new module is able to offer customers improved reliability and reduced series resistance, thanks to improved 5 busbar technology.

The ND-RJ module family, produced in Germany, is known for its reliability in terms of quality and yields and has already been widely used for projects and residential use all over Europe, Middle East and Africa. The module is equipped with a low-iron solar glass with anti-reflective coating, which increases light absorption, allowing for even more solar energy to be generated from the same surface area.

ND-RJ product family widely used: 11.6MW in Turkey by Aldo Enerji

Aldo Enerji has completed the installation of 43,000 high performance PV panels from Sharp for three different projects in Turkey, totaling 11.608 MW. This includes the largest solar farm in Viransehir, southeastern Turkey, generating 7.153 MW using Sharp’s 270W high-performance polycrystalline photovoltaic module the ND-RJ270.

Akın Yalçin, Aldo Enerji, “With projects on this scale, it was key that we stuck to a strict time schedule and having the panels delivered in a timely manner ensured the projects were completed in the allotted time. The robust design, high quality and long performance guarantees meant the ND-RJ modules were ideally suited to the sites, and have already exceeded our expectations having generated great yields since completion.”

Andrew Lee, Sales Director EMEA, Sharp, said: “We signed our partnership with Aldo Enerji at Intersolar 2017, and we are proud to be able to talk about the completion of such an extensive and successful project at this year’s show. Sharp is trusted by large customers like Aldo for the quality and reliability of our products and our service. We now have one of the widest ranges on the market with a solution for every installation, come and talk to us about our different technologies and our local support teams.”

NQ-R product family with 20.0% module efficiency

The Sharp stand will also showcase the recently launched 48-cell NQ-R258H PV module, a new addition to its NQ-R product family of highly efficient back contact modules for residential use. The NQ-R258H (258W) module incorporates Sharp’s back contact technology with ‘Best in Class’ efficiency of 20.0%; increasing the amount of sunlight that can be used and returning maximum power output for minimum roof space.

Smart Chap energy management system successfully being used in the DACH region

Sharp’s Smart Chap modular home energy management system will also be on stand. The Smart Chap energy manager enables control over battery storage to save the energy produced during the day, which can be used efficiently at any time, even at night. This means that during the summer months, consumers can expect to reduce their dependence on the public electrical grid by up to 99%, with an overall annual average of up to 80%. The system is already successfully being used by many customers in the DACH region and is now being expanded to other EU countries.
