Houston, TX – Feb. 8, 2012: POWER is pleased to announce the addition of Thomas W. Overton, JD, to its editorial staff. Tom has over 15 years of experience in scientific and professional publishing, and is a licensed California lawyer specializing in copyright and intellectual property issues. Before joining the publishing world, he served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear-qualified machinist’s mate.

In addition to writing for POWER, Tom will be heading up TradeFair Group’s newest product, GAS POWER, which will address the rapidly growing information needs of the gas-fired power generation industry. GAS POWER is an electronic newsletter that will initially be published bi-monthly beginning in February 2012.

Additionally, Tom will lead the Combined Cycle Users’ Group (CCUG), working closely with the Board to identify and improve industry best practices. The CCUG will host its annual meeting in conjunction with the ELECTRIC POWER conference, held this year in Baltimore, Md., May 15-17.

Tom also will work with POWER’s editorial team and the ELECTRIC POWER conference team to produce webinars and online training opportunities.

Tom will be working from his office in California and will report to POWER’s editor-in-chief, Dr. Robert Peltier. He can be reached at tomo@powermag.com and followed on Twitter @thomas_overton.
