MHPS, PWPS Join to Form Turbomachinery Powerhouse

LAKE MARY, Florida (April 2, 2018) — Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) today announced the integration of PW Power Systems (PWPS) within Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas (MHPS Americas).

MHPS Americas CEO Paul Browning said, “Integrating PWPS into MHPS Americas broadens our product portfolio and allows us to realize synergies between our various manufacturing and service centers in the United States, while also leveraging the global sales and service capabilities of MHPS and PWPS.  We’re also excited to leverage PWPS’s gas turbine power plant turnkey capabilities and their industrial gas turbine parts and repair capabilities.”

Originally acquired by MHI in 2013, PWPS has been functioning as a stand-alone MHPS subsidiary prior to this announcement.

PWPS Capabilities

Headquartered in Glastonbury, Conn., PWPS is a world leader in the supply of energy solutions for the power generation industry and provides an array of products and services including gas turbine packages, aftermarket services, and engineering, procurement, and construction services. An added product advantage offered by PWPS is the FT8® MOBILEPAC® gas turbine package, which is deployed rapidly and delivers 30 megawatts of movable power to areas in need in times of crisis.

“Our team at PWPS will benefit from full integration with another global turbomachinery OEM with industry-leading Dry Low NOx combustion technology, a significant American manufacturing footprint, and global sales and service networks,” said Raul Pereda, PWPS President and CEO. “PWPS customers around the world can expect a seamless transition, and can look forward to enhancements to the industry-leading products and services they’ve experienced from us in the past.”
