PSEG Nuclear Enters Partnership with Sargent & Lundy

CHICAGO – PSEG Nuclear and Sargent & Lundy LLC recently announced they have entered into an alliance agreement for ongoing engineering services for the Salem and Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Stations in Lower Alloways Creek, New Jersey.

The agreement calls for a majority of PSEG Nuclear’s modification design work as well other specialty support activities to be assigned to Sargent & Lundy. Sargent & Lundy will also engage in helping define project scopes in their early stages, as well as engage in other related activities such as modification acceptance testing and various other design support activities. Through this expanded relationship, Sargent & Lundy will be well positioned to provide innovative solutions to equipment or system issues that may allow for more cost effective approaches that reduce future design changes and therefore costs.

“This agreement will better focus our engineering staff to focus on our core work of maintaining the design bases of Salem and Hope Creek while supporting our goal of safe and event free operation,” said PSEG Nuclear Vice President of Engineering Paul Davison.

The firm has supported PSEG as an engineer of choice (EOC) for the last 15 years. The majority of its support will continue to be supplied from a dedicated engineering and management team working exclusively for PSEG Nuclear from Sargent & Lundy’s Wilmington, Delaware operations. Additional resources will be brought in as needed.
