ABB Power Conversion Expands Mission-Critical Services Training

To help prepare DC power professionals and installers to address some of the toughest power challenges across telecommunications, data center, cable, and industrial applications, ABB Power Conversion today announced it is resuming its in-person and on-site training services while expanding its catalog of online courses. The in-person, hands-on training is now available at ABB’s Plano, Texas facility and its new Hunt Valley, Maryland, training center. Training also can be provided at customer sites.

The courses offered by ABB Power Conversion help equip attendees with the industry and product knowledge and keep them apprised of the latest power technologies and techniques to enhance safe operation. The variety of courses and formats offered are designed to lend flexibility to participants while meeting customer needs.

The latest catalog of ABB Power Conversion’s training offerings can be found here. It includes classes such as:

  • DC Engineering Fundamentals
  • DC Power Installation Standards and Best Practices
  • Infinity DC Power Systems
  • Millennium II and Pulsar Plus Controller
  • Edge Distributed Data Center Power Architecture

“With our extensive training courses, attendees will walk out of their sessions with the knowledge needed – and enhanced skills – to help them ensure proper installation, maintenance and operation of today’s advanced DC power equipment and systems,” said Vito Savino, data center and wireline segment leader, ABB Power Conversion.

ABB’s hands-on training labs are equipped with the latest generations of ABB DC power equipment, as well as custom testing and programming tools. Customers also have the option to bring ABB’s training courses and expertise directly to their sites.

While this on-site instruction and hands-on lab training is invaluable to ensuring real-world success – and is especially important for simulating mission-critical environments – it may not always be possible or practical from a logistics standpoint. In these situations, online courses provide extensive trainings and knowledge by implementing a combination of lecture, workshop, and interactive course elements.

“Regardless of training course or format, one thing remains constant – the extensive, decades-long experience and DC power knowledge that we bring to all of our courses. At ABB, we know how important training, service and maintenance are to our customers and to the continued uptime of their mission-critical equipment. In fact, in our recent data center industry survey, respondents listed services and maintenance as their top concern when it comes to supporting ever-increasing demand on their facilities,” Savino continued.
