15 Must-See Tweets from the 2015 Paris Climate Conference

The 21st annual Conference of Parties (COP21) to review the implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) began in Paris, France, on Nov. 30, 2015.

COP21 is expected to be one of the largest international conferences ever held. There are hopes that COP21 will achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate, with the aim of keeping global warming to less than two degrees Celsius. On day one, 150 heads of state filled the stage for a photo opportunity, followed by short speeches by each leader. Estimates suggest that COP21 will draw close to 50,000 participants, including 25,000 official delegates from government, intergovernmental organizations, UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, and civil society. The conference will run through Dec. 11.
