Extension to thermal utility features MAN 28/32S engines
Augsburg, Oct. 15th , 2014 – The Mexican energy company, Aldener ADM S.A. de C.V., placed this year an order with MAN Diesel & Turbo for two MAN 18V28/32S generating sets. The engines will help to expand an existing power plant– Guerrero Negro – located in El Vizcaino, Baja California Sur.
MAN Diesel & Turbo signed a contract with Aldener with a scope of supply that includes two 18V28/32S generating sets, control panels and some mechanical modules.
The gensets after having passed the factory acceptance tests will be shipped to Mexico in the last quarter of the year. The project is scheduled for handover to CFE in December, 2015.
MAN Diesel & Turbo reports that Guerrero Negro IV is strategically important since MAN has gained a new customer in a booming market like Mexico, while for Aldesa, it represents its first thermal power plant in Mexico, as well as its first for CFE.
Other CFE references:
MAN has previously secured several, other orders from CFE. A previous extension of the Guerrero Negro plant involved 2 × 12V32/40 Gensets (approx. 11.6 MW). MAN also has several two-stroke CFE references, including 1x 10K90MC-S (approx 42 MW), 3 × 12K80MC-S engines (43 MW approx per engine) and 1x12K80MC-S9 (48 MW approx) in La Paz plant, the last engine “Baja California V” was ordered at the beginning of 2014.
