DAVIDSON, N.C. — November 18, 2010 — (NYSE:IR) – Ingersoll Rand, a pioneer in the development of overhead material handling equipment, has launched its new line of Jib Crane products (275#, 350#, 550# and 1100# capacity points), designed to meet overhead support needs, particularly those with limited headroom height. An inexpensive solution for short transfer applications, Jib Cranes are a cost effective and ergonomic solution for all handling needs.
“These first four models to be released represent common configurations our customers need every day to solve their lifting problems,” said Jeff Baker Category Manager, Industrial Lifting Global Product Management for Ingersoll Rand. “We’ve answered a need with our new Jib Cranes and our customers can get them quickly through our FAST DELIVERY program, with guaranteed seven day shipping.”
Ideally suited to applications with low ceilings or overhead obstructions, the no tie-rod design supports both air balancers and hoist applications. Jib cranes with the rail option use precision aluminum Ingersoll Rand Enclosed Track rail for the boom, resulting in an ergonomic, lightweight boom with best-in-class rolling resistance. High impact, durable polymer roller wheel design delivers smooth and easy rotation around the column. Standard flange I-Beam and Enclosed Track Rail provide rugged reliability for every application.
The capacity rating on each Jib Crane includes the weight of the hoist or lifting device. For example, a 550 lb capacity jib can be directly paired with a ¼t capacity hoist and all are designed in accordance with AISC Steel Construction, ANSI B30.11, and ANSI MH27.2. The new Jib Cranes can be paired with a wide variety of powered or manual hoists or balancers. Whether applications require a beam clamp, an I-Beam trolley, or a rail trolley, the 360° rotation jibs are an ideal solution. Hoist trolleys for use on the jibs are sold separately, and balancer trolleys can be ordered as part of the configured balancer by adding either a “TR” (I-Beam) or an “A2” (A2 aluminum rail) to the end of the balancer model number.
Three of the new models are I-Beam style support, and designed for use with common metric ton hoist capacities. One model, the 350#, includes the durable and smooth-rolling A2 aluminum rail profile and is for use with the Ingersoll Rand 350# balancer. Over the next few months, Ingersoll Rand will launch additional models in both I-Beam and aluminum rail, in boom lengths ranging from 8’ to 16’ and with underclearance of 10’, 12’ or 14’.
