PRC Approves Pattern Development’s New Mexico Wind Projects

Albuquerque, NM (October 8, 2018) – The Public Regulation Commission (PRC) voted to approve the location control permit for Pattern Development’s Corona Wind Projects in a 4-0 vote. As a result, construction can begin on an estimated 950 wind turbines, to produce 2,200 MW of power.

The Corona Wind Project will provide long-term financial benefits to the region.  According to an economic impact report developed by Albuquerque accounting firm Moss Adams, the Corona Project will generate $3.8 billion of total impact, result in the hiring of hundreds of workers during construction and support approximately 100 jobs once it is operational.

Pattern Development’s affiliate, Pattern Energy, is the largest operating clean energy company in New Mexico with operational wind facilities already powering more than 604,000 homes in the state. The Corona Wind Projects are expected to be in operation by the end of 2020.
