PIC is Awarded O&M Contract for Nine Hydro Power Plants in Peru

LIMA, Peru (November 3, 2010) – PIC Group, Inc. and its subsidiary, PIC del Peru S.A.C., have been chosen to provide operations and site performed maintenance services for nine hydro power plants in Peru.  Owned by Volcan Compania Minera S.A.A., a Peruvian mining company and the fourth largest producer of zinc and silver in the world, the hydro facilities provide power to much of Volcan’s mining operation.  The three year contract includes an additional three year automatic renewal and covers all electrical, mechanical and waterway infrastructure.

Under this contract, PIC’s on-site operators and technicians will perform routine operations as well as all minor and major maintenance to the hydro plants, transmission lines, water intakes, channels, valves and pressure pipes.  The contract also provides for O&M services of Volcan’s new 110 megawatt hydro plant to be added in the near future.

“With this award, PIC is accepting new challenges in Peru.  We are proud to operate and maintain this hydro system with the same safety, commitment and quality that have been our trademarks in Peru and throughout the world,” said Carlos Lopez, Regional Manager of PIC del Peru.
