Hexagon launches Intergraph Smart Digital Asset | Collaboration Module

Hexagon, a leading global provider of information technology solutions, announced today the launch of Intergraph Smart Digital Asset | Collaboration, the first phase of the rollout of the Smart Digital Asset (SDA) information management platform for industrial facilities. SDA Collaboration is the first online project collaboration technology architected to simultaneously build the owner operator’s digital asset during the project phase for use later in operations and maintenance.

SDA Collaboration was unveiled today at HxGN LIVE, Hexagon’s premier cross-industry technology conference that welcomes thousands of business leaders from around the world, taking place through 16 June at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

“The SDA information management platform is a major step towards realising the vision of our PPM division – the smart digital industrial facility that thinks for itself. The adoption of SDA Collaboration accelerates our customers’ ability to gain efficiencies, resulting in significant savings on total project and handover costs,” said Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén.

SDA Collaboration has an intelligent and simple approach to improving information exchange between project stakeholders. It gathers and leverages data to ensure that the right deliverables at the right milestones are reviewed by the right specialists, based on intelligent rules; an enormous improvement over the industry’s document-centric approaches.

Developed in collaboration with a major owner operator over two years, SDA Collaboration will be commercially released worldwide in the third quarter of 2017 as a cloud-based service, with an on-premise deployment option planned for 2018. All Smart Digital Asset modules will be released as ’cloud ready,’ with a web-based user experience that is intuitive and robust.

The goal of SDA Collaboration is to deliver substantial resource efficiency gains by shortening cycle times, reducing costs and decreasing risks while improving total project quality. With 10 per cent reduction in change orders and up to 7 per cent savings on total project costs, SDA Collaboration offers owner operators a new and powerful resource with enormous upside potential.
