PSEG Donates 200,000 Pairs of Gloves to State to Support Response by Health Care and First Responders During COVID-19 Pandemic

NEWARK, N.J. (April 8, 2020) — PSEG announced that it has donated 4,000 boxes or 200,000 pairs of gloves to the State of New Jersey in an effort to help the medical community meet its increased need for protective equipment amid the COVID-19 pandemic. PSEG is donating the gloves to the state, which will distribute the gloves to health care organizations in need.

PSEG is continuing to evaluate our inventory relative to our needs as a critical service and first responder and hope to identify future opportunities to support the significant need of the health care industry.

The global coronavirus pandemic has created a rapidly increasing demand for medical equipment. The gloves are part of PSEG’s own inventory of emergency supplies and, importantly, PSEG has ensured that its employees, who are essential to powering the state, have the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) they need to respond to emergency situations. To protect customers and themselves, our employees also have been trained in social distancing and other protective measures related to the coronavirus.
