NAES CORPORATION ACQUIRES GRIDFORCE ENERGY MANAGEMENT LLC

NAES Corporation, a broad-based provider of plant operations, maintenance, fabrication, construction, engineering and technical services, has acquired Gridforce Energy Management LLC, a Houston-based firm that provides energy control and integration management services to transmission, merchant generation, micro-grids, load-serving entities and demand response clients throughout North America.

“Gridforce opens a door into the transmission space, which is a strategic move for us,” said Robert E. Fishman, President and CEO of NAES. “The group’s depth in managing renewables and secure remote operation of facilities strengthens our portfolio.”

NAES Chief Operating Officer Tom Bartolomei added, “Integrating Gridforce into our Power Services Group adds a layer of expertise in balancing and monitoring of power flows that we have not previously offered. It also augments our NERC reliability, asset management and energy accounting capabilities.”

Carolyn J. Ingersoll, President of Gridforce, said, “We’re excited to join the NAES family and fill a critical niche in their services platform. We can potentially save every facility in the NAES fleet from penalties and billing errors while providing flexibility in managing their power supply and sales. We look forward to continuing our 20-year heritage of enhancing clients’ profitability while reducing their risk.”

Gridforce has successfully certified over 48 balancing authorities, managed full requirements service for five municipal utilities, and provided services to over 13,000 MW of generation in five NERC regions. From its state-of-the-art energy control center in Houston, the Gridforce team can analyze electrical power grid activity 24/7 in real time, historically, and looking forward, giving clients unique control of asset operation and settlement activities.
