Meggitt Sensing Systems opens in Brazil

São José Dos Campos, Brazil –– Meggitt Sensing Systems (MSS), the division of Meggitt PLC specialising in machinery protection and condition monitoring systems for rotating machinery, continues to expand its international presence with the official opening of a new office in the heart of São José Dos Campos, Brazil, on July 27th.

The move was spurred by the steady growth of MSS business in Latin America, primarily Brazil, requiring a base for local personnel to provide sales, technical and training support to hydro, oil and gas and aerospace markets.

The office is located close to many MSS customers including Siemens, TGM, NG, Alstom, Petrobras and Embraer in a new modern building in São José Dos Campos’ dynamic business quarter.

MSS’ Sales Director Energy for Latin America and Asia, Hitesh Shah, commented: “Brazil, with its increasing ventures in the oil and gas and biomass power generation markets, is an exceptional location from which to support our Latin American customers. The country hosts Itaipu, the world’s largest and most powerful hydro power plant and a wealth of other natural resources, such as mining and pulp and paper plants that would benefit from our monitoring solutions.”

He continued: “We are also looking forward to reinforcing our long-standing relationship with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, which will now be serviced by a dedicated account manager from this base.”

Meggitt’s oil and gas interests are also served by a base in Rio de Janeiro, from which its Heatric business markets its compact, high-duty printed circuit heat exchangers.
