ABB Automation & Power World 2010 Breaks All Attendance Records

ABB Automation & Power World 2010, held in Houston, Texas last week (May 18-21), exceeded event attendance expectations and prior year event attendance by more than 30 percent. The conference attracted a record number of participants for any ABB event worldwide, totaling more than 4,000 attendees.

ABB also announced the dates and venue for ABB Automation & Power World 2011. The event will be held at the Marriott World Centre in Orlando, Florida from April 19-21, 2011.

ABB Automation & Power World is a three-day, comprehensive users conference and exhibition that showcases ABB’s extensive automation and power offerings and expertise under one roof, the widest range of technologies from one company at any one conference. The 2010 event included more than over 500 hours of workshops and hands-on training sessions, and featured a massive 100,000 square foot exhibit hall, the equivalent of three football fields combined.

“We are honored to provide this meaningful forum for learning and information exchange for so many of our customers, to help them successfully meet today’s business challenges, as well as be ready to take advantage of new opportunities in the coming economic recovery,” said Rick Hepperla, Event Chairman, ABB Inc. “The continued record breaking attendance at this conference underscores customer demand for comprehensive educational exchanges like ABB Automation & Power World, and the value of sharing experiences and best practices with industry peers and technical experts.”

ABB designed its largest customer event for utility power products and systems users as well as automation, robotics and industrial power users in engineering, operations, mill, plant and general management, and executive management in a wide variety of industries. Organized workshops, as well as information networking with ABB experts, industry experts and end user peers helped attendees share best practices as well as learn how to reduce costs while improving their productivity and efficiency, be more competitive in today’s challenging economic environment, and build the foundation for future growth and prosperity.

The continued convergence of key market issues, such as the need to improve energy efficiency in the face of soaring energy costs, and the productivity, reliability and safety gains achieved from process and electrical integration, combined with today’s ever changing economic conditions, have exponentially increased interest in both power and automation. ABB’s unique scope of supply and resident expertise addresses the entire spectrum of the energy issues, from generation and distribution to use in production and automation, and provides customers with the competitive edge they need to succeed today and in the future.

ABB is a leader in power and automation technologies that enable utility and industry customers to improve their performance while lowering environmental impact.
