At bauma 2025, touted as the world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles, and construction equipment, which was held at the exhibition center in Munich, Germany, April 7–13, 2025, GEDA presented itself under the motto “UNLIMITED SOLUTIONS.” The slogan launches a clear message: GEDA offers a tailored solution for every need. The company’s versatile product portfolio, comprehensive service, and innovative digital tools form a convincing all-around package that leaves nothing to be desired. Meanwhile, the opening of GEDA’s new administrative building in Asbach-Bäumenheim, Bavaria, also marks a significant step forward. The thoughtfully designed and sustainable building sets new standards with the goal of achieving DNGB Gold certification. The concept of sustainability is firmly embedded in GEDA’s culture and is reflected both in the new building and in the company’s products. Many devices from GEDA, for instance, are characterized by features such as energy recovery, thereby contributing to the conservation of resources.
Among notable power industry offerings promoted at bauma 2025 was the GEDA SH 250 W, a hoist designed for wind turbines. This battery-powered lift enables sustainable and independent operation, with excess energy efficiently fed back into the batteries. This not only helps reduce operating costs but also increases the elevator’s lifespan by minimizing both maintenance and service costs. Compared to conventional lifts with steel cables, operating costs and downtime are significantly reduced.
The GEDA SH 250 W is a robust rack-and-pinion lift specifically designed for use in wind turbines (Figure 1). Its stable guide ensures an extremely smooth ride, even during the construction phase of wind turbines.
Another highlight is its battery-powered concept, which allows for the return of excess energy—a further step toward sustainable resource use. The integrated remote diagnostics feature ensures fast service and immediate availability, while the “Plug-and-Play” system allows for easy and quick installation. Additionally, the GEDA SH 250 W can be easily retrofitted into existing wind turbines (Figure 2), making it a flexible solution for both new and existing projects.
