Described by EPRI as a "promising new technology," the METTLER TOLEDO Thornton 3000CS at-line chloride and sulfate analyzer ensures real-time, ppb-level detection of chloride and sulfate ions in water cycle chemistry. The 3000CS uses microfluidic capillary electrophoresis, an ion separation technology, to accurately measure trace levels of chloride and sulfate. It is an effective alternative to costly off-line technologies such as ion chromatography and inductively coupled plasma. Unlike substitute measurements such as cation conductivity, it is not affected by formate, acetate or other contaminants. The 3000CS catches contamination quickly to prevent corrosion and meet turbine warranty requirements.
