New Analyzer Combines On-line Phosphate and Silica

Used within approximately 50% of power plant drum-type boilers, phosphate treatment plays two important roles. First, maintaining proper alkalinity within the boiler water. Second, phosphate controls scale build-up for effective blowdown and protection against corrosion. To monitor phosphate in these water/steam cycle applications, plants were previously forced to choose between performing periodic grab samples or managing a standalone, on-line phosphate analyzer. To address this challenge, METTLER TOLEDO developed the multi-function 2850Si analyzer, which performs reliable on-line silica and phosphate measurements simultaneously. This compact water chemistry solution allows plant personnel to measure phosphate on-line without increasing their analyzer maintenance workload.
