Security Issues in Today’s Power Marketplace

Security is a concern for anyone in today’s power generation marketplace. Intense global economic competition, geopolitical uncertainty and the “hacking economy” mean threats today are more pervasive than ever.

One area often overlooked is the proper vetting for contractors and vendor employees. These individuals are essentially ubiquitous: they work across multiple departments, can enter multiple buildings and have access to most critical systems. However, given the pace at which business runs, these individuals often aren’t vetted as thoroughly as an organization’s regular, full-time employees.
