“Made to Move You” Campaign Puts Spotlight on Personal Stories

Volvo Penta of the Americas has unveiled a new video campaign for its industrial engine product line. With the theme of “Made to Move You,” the video showcases how an often behind-the-scenes power solution can make a positive impact on the lives of everyday people.

Most marketing programs in the power generation industry feature product specifications and capabilities on the job. Volvo Penta chose to take a different route by engaging with viewers emotionally on a more personal level, tugging at the heartstrings and personifying the brand.

Filmed against the backdrop of a large agricultural farm, the video begins with rolling images of fields, gentle horses and the farm owner putting away saddles at the end of the day. The scene then fades to the evening as an elegant outdoor wedding unfolds on the farm. Just as the rancher begins to dance with his newlywed daughter, the twinkling party lights go dark. Confidently, he walks to his Volvo Penta generator and presses the start button. The lights return, and the guests applaud. Catastrophe averted, the wedding party resumes.

The video, which debuted in June, has received a total of 1.4 million impressions worldwide.

Volvo Penta’s power-generator customers are familiar with the company’s equipment and know what it can accomplish in terms of industrial solutions. With this video, the company wanted to show how Volvo Penta powers life’s important moments, such as a wedding, creating memories that can last a lifetime.
