The Storm Is Coming! Electrostatic discharge on turbine lube oil systems

Register to attend this complimentary online On Demand webinar.

Electrostatic charge generation occurs in fluid systems mainly as a result of interaction between the fluid and the filtration media. The interaction causes charge separation between the filtration medium and the fluid, with the fluid oppositely charged to the filtration medium. The magnitude of charge generated depends on many interrelated factors, including the nature of the filter material and the fluid, fluid velocity, viscosity, conductivity and the contact area.

What Lies Beneath: Avoiding the Unseen Dangers of OT Vulnerabilities

Register to attend this complimentary online webinar on Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. ET.

Remember the movie Jaws? On the surface, the ocean seemed quiet and unaffected, but lurking just beneath was a 25-foot great white shark waiting to strike without warning. In today’s power plants and facilities, process control networks (PCNs) have their own sharks swimming just below the surface: vulnerabilities.

Optimizing Project Schedules and Scope with Protective Coatings

Register to attend this complimentary online webinar on Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. ET.

Today’s power generation facilities are highly focused on improving profitability by reducing the length of maintenance outages, extending intervals between outages, and limiting outages altogether by performing more online maintenance. However, when maintaining coatings, many plants will have difficulty achieving these goals on their own due primarily to their loss of experienced talent.

Maintaining Condenser Reliability By Detecting Costly Air And Water In-Leakage

Register to attend this complimentary online webinar on demand.

Leakage of air or water into the plant condenser negatively impacts plant efficiency and reliability, which can lead to costly forced outages. During a recent four-year period, condensers were responsible for more than 25,000 forced and scheduled outages, with condenser tube leaks being the primary source of generation loss.

Capitalizing Upon Differences Between And Among PRB Coals

Register to attend this complimentary online webinar.

The Powder River Basin coals are recognized as both Sub-bituminous C and Sub-bituminous A ranked fossil fuels. They differ with respect to many properties including not only calorific value and bulk chemistry (including ash chemistry) but also reactivity and the evolution of potential pollutants (e.g., fuel nitrogen, sulfur).

ICS Cybersecurity – The Power of Regulation Versus Well-Oiled Industry Standards

Register to attend this complimentary online webinar. April 25 at 1 p.m. EDT

It has become an ongoing debate – does government or self-regulation work better to secure an industry? The power industry is currently on NERC CIP Version 6 of its regulatory requirements with future regulations expected on supply chain security. Oil & gas (O&G) has no such regulatory regime, but does have standards that it uses to reduce cybersecurity risk, such as NIST 800-82 and IEC 62443. For O&G, compliance is an internally generated activity.
