Thirty-Two New Doosan Excavators for Theisen: Theisen Expands Rental Fleet in Germany and Austria

Theisen Baumaschinen Mietpark GmbH & Co KG, one of the largest construction machinery rental companies in Germany, has purchased 32 new wheeled and crawler excavators from Doosan.  Theisen continuously invests in the purchase of new machines to keep the average age of its fleet at a potentially record-breaking 2.5 years.  As well as reducing the average age, the 32 new Doosan excavators provide a further expansion of the company’s rental fleet available for hire from regional Theisen centres throughout Germany and also in Vienna in Austria.

The new additions to the Theisen fleet include six 15 tonne DX140LCR reduced radius excavators, each offering 71 kW of engine power and a swing radius of 3.36 m; four 23.7 tonne DX235LCR reduced radius excavators with 124 kW engines and a digging depth of 6.67 m; ten 17.7 tonne DX180LC crawler excavators powered by the 88 kW DL06 Doosan engine and providing a digging depth of 5.7-6.6 m; and twelve 14.3 tonne DX140W wheeled excavators providing a 27% increase in productivity over the previous model in the Doosan range.

Theisen has been purchasing products from Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment (including Doosan, Bobcat and Montabert brands) for two years now and currently offers 50 compact loaders (mostly S70 models), compact excavators and 160 Bobcat and Montabert demolition hammers for hire.

The main criteria for deciding on the Doosan machines, according to Andreas Schilling, CEO of Theisen Baumaschinen Mietpark GmbH & Co. KG, were Theisen’s satisfaction and positive experience from the two years of business dealings with the Doosan Group and its products.

Mr Schilling said: "The machines are very robust, reliable and service-friendly, they are easy to work with and operate."  He also emphasized the manoeuvrability of the machines and the ability to deploy them in urban applications and canal construction.

Service and maintenance work on the machines is carried out by Doosan.  Klaus Peter Thomsen, key account manager at Doosan, is pleased about the decision: "It is always good to hear that clients have chosen Doosan because of their positive experiences and the enduring quality of our products."

Theisen has been in business for 125 years. It operates in four countries offering professional rental services for construction machinery, construction equipment and man platforms. With 110 service points in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Hungary, Theisen is one of the largest construction machinery rental companies in Germany.
