This POWER magazine webinar spells out the challenges facing the power generation industry by aging North American power plants built in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s. Exacerbating that trend is the aging “baby boomer” workforce that has been maintaining and operating these aged plants. Given reduced capital expenditure budgets and Wall Street demands for fiscal prudence, utilities do not have the luxury of replacing their aging equipment. Instead, plants are grappling with the special needs of aging equipment to meet reliability factor and availability goals.
